ADHD Support Group

Start Date: Jan. 23rd, Every Monday

If you have been diagnosed with ADHD or struggle with some or many of the symptoms – inattention, difficulty paying attention to details, inability to follow through on tasks, trouble with organization, losing things, easily distracted, forgetful – this group of students can help you figure out solutions to your challenges.


Miners for Recovery

Start Date: Jan. 20th, Every Thursday
Time: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

This supportive group is an opportunity to explore your own behaviors and ideas for change to avoid future consequences related to drugs and alcohol. We will work to increase self-awareness and understanding of responsibilities and relationships with others and provide you with a support system, in a safe setting, where you will have the opportunity to share information and receive feedback from others in similar circumstances.



Anger Management

A 6 week group whose purpose is to help students manage anger effectively, stop violence or the threat of violence, develop self-control over thoughts and actions, and receive support from others.

With so many stressors and pressures of being a student-athlete, join fellow Miners to talk through challenges in keeping up with academic expectations, managing injuries, addressing body image concerns, and many other topics.



Asperger’s Support Group

Start Date: Feb. 1st
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

This ongoing group focuses on select topics of interest and discussions with students diagnosed on the Autistic Spectrum. The group listens, understands, and provides guidance to assist each other in developing the skills needed for college success. Students share information about campus resources and organizations that allow them to become more comfortably engaged with the campus community.


RISE: Skills and Support Group

Start Date: Jan 31st, Every Tuesday
Time: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Location: Student Health Complex

Gain skills to effectively manage stress, adjust to college, and cope with anxiety, depression, and other concerns. This supportive group is open to all undergraduate students. Weekly topics include resilience, healthy choices, and overcoming challenges.



Building Social Confidence

Learn to decrease your social anxiety and improve your confidence with conversations, social skills, and social interactions. This group has structured topics, is 7 weeks long, and requires an initial individual meeting prior to joining.


Safety Group

Highly structured group for students with the goal of reducing PTSD symptoms and increasing safety (12 weeks of topics).



Focus on relaxation

Dates: Feb 24th, March 24th, and April 28th
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Location: Student Wellness, 201 Norwood Hall

Join us on the fourth Friday of the month to learn and experience a variety of relaxation techniques. Each group will focus on different ways to manage stress. Drop-in for as little or as long as you can.


Worriers to Warriors: Conquering Test Anxiety

Dates: Feb 22nd, March 1st, and March 8th
Time: 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Location: Toomey Hall

This 3-part workshop will help you identify the root causes of test anxiety. You’ll gain practical skills in stress management, learn how to rewrite your negative thinking, and find new ways to manage daily tasks and incorporate studying into your school routine.

Losing someone you care about is hard. Grieving often continues over time and may catch us unexpectedly. Sometimes those around us don’t understand what we’re going through or don’t know how to help us. This group is offered to provide a safe place to share experiences, give and receive support, learn about the process of grieving, and explore strategies to cope with the many feelings and issues associated with mourning.
